Esther Mechler is a pioneer in the spay/neuter movement and the founder of United Spay Alliance. For more than 30 years, she has worked to reduce pet overpopulation by expanding access to affordable spay/neuter programs and promoting prevention as the most effective solution to shelter overcrowding.

Casey Shook
Executive Director
Casey Shook is the Executive Director of Homeward Bound Pets Humane Society in Oregon, where she oversees shelter operations, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic, and the development of a new animal shelter to serve her community. With a background in law and animal welfare leadership, she brings a strategic and compassionate approach to shelter management.

Erika Oguro

Erika Oguro is a Japanese animal welfare advocate and University of Florida graduate specializing in shelter medicine. After discovering the impact of modern shelter practices in the United States, she returned to Japan determined to expand access to shelter medicine education and resources.
